M.I.B. (Men in Blue) Jewelers Setup to Catch Theives

I thought this was pretty ingenious of the police in the Boston area. Talk about thinking outside the box. The Boston police department setup a sting operation where they opened their own jewelry and electronics repair store. Thieves flocked in to sell their goods and where quickly nabbed. The Boston police say they recovered over 200 stolen items. The funny thing is that the store’s name was M.I.B. jewelers which stands for Men In Blue.

“Police said undercover officers staffed the store over a five-week period and created the impression that they were willing to purchase stolen merchandise. The transactions were captured on video cameras”
