Jewelry designers in 51 categories were honored at the 2011 NICHE awards in Philadelphia at the Buyers Market of American Craft which was held on 2/18/2011. There were 38 professional categories and 13 student categories which had A total 1,600 entries.
The NICHE awards are for American or Canadian jewelry designers over the age of 21 or students in a undergraduate, graduate or certificate arts program.
“Professional and student craft artists submitted nearly 1,600 entries for the 2011 competition. In December 2010, NICHE
magazine announced 179 professional and 67 student finalists, who were invited to display their work at the Buyers Market. Entries were judged on technical excellence in surface design and in form, unique, original and creative thought, and market viability (professional entries only). Winners will be featured in the spring 2011 issue of NICHE magazine.”
